My Favorite Places in the World

So one of my favorite things to do is to travel. growing up in germany, korea and belgium my family took me and my brother all over the world...simply because most places were easily accessible. I've been to about 42 countries last time accounted but only three continents unfortunately (north america, europe and asia) but i wanna go to all 7 eventually!
So far my top five favorite places in the world are:

1. Brussels, Belgium
No other country can compare to live in in my opinion to Belgium. It has absolutely evertying...great food, nice people, beautiful buildings. the only thing crappy about it is the weather. I'm sure a lot of people would argue with me on this one and I probably only put it in my top five because I have such an emotional attachment to it but the fries, chocolates, beer, waffles, nightlife and beautiful countryside are all the things probably everyone loves/would love about Brussels.

2. Phuket, Thailand
We used to spend every spring vacation in Phuket when we lived in Korea. I don't remember too much about since i was pretty young but i remember the water being the warmest I've ever been in, the beaches being beautiful and the local markets we used to go to.

3. Ocean City, New Jersey

This is where i spent all my summers grades 1-9. It sounds boring and unexotic but nothing beats the great beaches, little town center, long boardwalk, crabbing in the marshes, water ice, cheesesteaks and sailing on the ocean.

4. Wyoning, Arizona, Utah

People always shit on me for sticking up for these places but my family used to have layover in Wyoming, Utah and Arizona on our way home from Korea to PA so we've spent a lot of time there. I remember going to a legit rodeo in Wyoming and particiating in a chicken cahse in the arena where all the kids went out tried to chase and capture a chicken....i almost caught it. if you did catch it you either got to keep the chicken.....or you got 50 bucks. the kid who caught it kept the chicken (?) We stayed at the Pheonician in Arizona and it was aboslutely beautiful...there wwere something like 11 pools at the hotel. Driving through these states at sunset is unreal and I've seen anything like the sun going down on the massive cliffs and rocks that dot the vast deserts.

5. Paradise Island, Bahamas

Ok so lets face it. the Bahamas itself doesnt have much culture and it only made my list because of the Atlantis resort. I went for Spring Break 2009 with my roommate and another friend an the resort was like a city it had absolutely everything you would need for months. we stayed in the harborside part of the hotel and had some pretty crazy nights at senor frogs and on a yaht and at the resorts fancy club aura. for a purely relaxing vacation experience you probably cant beat going to Atlantis.

6. Souston, France

In the provence area of France we used to go here all the time for our summers when we lived in Brussels. It borders the Basque region of Spain so its a combination of Spanish and French culture. There used to be carnivals at night or you could sit out on the local streets at a restaurant or cafe and get sangria, crepes and iles flotante which were my favorite

7. i know im already over five but other runner ups that might have to be added to the list are Paris, London, Beijing,Venice and of course Boston.

Old School Nickelodeon

so i couldnt think of a name for my blog but i was thinking about clarissa explains it all...that old school nickelodeon show and it seemed good enough. the theme song is kind of catchy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S8cs8_8XHQ

what i miss more than anything in the world sometimes though are the old nick and cartoon network shows of the 90's that i used to watch. ones i miss the most:

1. doug
2. cow and chicken
3. johnny bravo
4. keenan and kel
5. all that
6. hey arnold!
7. clarissa explains it all
8. Legends of the Hidden Temple
9. and catdog just cause its so weird and worth mentioning....i think whoever came up with most of these cartoons was really stoned at the time...a cat and dog fused togetther at the butt? really? come on....
10. and a ton of others that i cant think of right now.....

The Blog is Born

So after being home at the Jersey shore for just one day I've decided that the sheer boredom of being here will soon slowly kill me and I better pick up a new hobby. Blogging seems pretty time consuming and a good creative outlet so my blog is born as a way to curb my boredom. It's not that I dislike the jersey shore cause i really don't...I think its beautiful and I live right by the beach it's just that in comparison to Boston where I've spent the past 9 months it seems a little slow paced and dull. I've definitely realized I'm a city not a country (or even suburban) person. So, this blogging is a little weird...I don't really know what audience I'm writing to but I guess we'll just see where it goes and who decides to read it!
